Haslam Lake
At the centre of our enhancement effort is the water from the Haslam Lake watershed. We depend completely on the Haslam Lake watershed to feed Lang Creek, where our fish return every year to spawn, rear and depart. Therefore it is absolutely vital to our operations that the Haslam Lake watershed be managed in a way that can provide returning salmon an adequate amount of water to sustain their natural life cycle as well as allow for the rearing of the next generation of returning salmon. Our water licence provides us with a legal guarantee that an adequate supply of water will be provided for Lang Creek and the fish. As demand for Haslam Lake water grows over time, we maintain that there must be representation on behalf of the fish to ensure they will always have ample water for a healthy salmon population in the Powell River area.
